Shipping Information

  • We do NOT ship same-day orders.
  • Ship dates are scheduled for delivery Monday through Friday.
  • Orders received after 3 pm will not ship until the next possible business day.
  • Your order will not ship unless delivery can be made within the same week. 
  • All refrigerated items require a 3 day lead time & overnight shipping.

Swedish Bakery does not utilize preservatives in our products; therefore we suggest all shipping orders outside of UPS’ 3 day time-in-transit zone for ground shipment from Chicago be shipped via the 3 Day Select option.  (Please note that ground time-in-transit pertains to commercial addresses ONLY.)  Weekends or public holidays such as Memorial Day, Independence Day, etc. are NOT included in UPS time-in-transit calculations, nor is the day the item(s) are shipped.  Please take these notes into consideration when estimating ship time from Chicago.

Swedish Bakery will NOT be held responsible for shipping delays caused by inclement weather or other events beyond our control.  UPS may elect to suspend their shipping guarantees for all services on occasion.  This may occur prior to the Christmas holiday or due to inclement weather conditions.  UPS does not deliver to P.O Boxes.

When placing an order you must ensure that apartment or unit numbers are provided where appropriate for the recipient’s address.  Please ensure that the recipient’s zip code is correct as well.  Swedish Bakery is NOT responsible for any shipping delays that my result from missing or inaccurate address information.  Please provide the recipient’s phone contact information in the appropriate field if different from your own.

Please note that Swedish Bakery DOES NOT ship same day orders.  Orders are typically shipped the following business day, unless shipping on this day will not allow the item(s) to arrive in a timely manner (see above.)  If this is the case you will be advised either via e-mail or phone.  Since all Swedish Bakery products are baked fresh daily, all refrigerated item(s) require no less than a two day lead time prior to shipping.

To guarantee safe internet transactions we use RSA® encryption, supported by both Netscape® and Microsoft®.

KEY TO SAFETY

Our server and your computer each provide one key for locking and unlocking the data. Outsiders can't access data without both keys.

FACTS TO CONSIDER:

Remember, it is far easier in a normal retail situation, whether by phone or in person, to have your number copied down, than for someone to steal the number on the internet.Your liability is zero if you report unauthorized items or transactions to your card provider within 30 days of getting your bill. (If your card is lost or stolen you must report it immediately.)

If preferred, you may fax your order to us at 773-561-3955 after completing the following steps.  Add items in your shopping cart as usual and select, “order by credit card using fax” when the option presents itself at check out.  A page suitable for printing will become available instead of your transaction being sent via the internet.  Please print the presented form, note the fax number and fax your order to us.

MAIL:

If preferred, you may place your order via the mail after completing the following steps.  Add items in your shopping cart as usual and select, “order by credit card through Postal Mail” when the option presents itself at check out.  A page suitable for printing will become available instead of your transaction being sent via the internet.  Please note that all orders paid via personal check will note be shipped until after the check has been cleared.  On average this process takes 10 business days.
